IMIP25 : International Meeting for Innovative Pedagogy 2025
APril 30,  2025,  UTC - Compiègne (France)

Concept note

ARGUMENT

The second edition of International Meeting for Innovative Pedagogy IMIP’25, under the theme "Education and Scientific Research in the Era of Artificial Intelligence: Challenges, Opportunities, and Innovations", aims to be a space for reflection, exchange, and learning about the profound transformations that artificial intelligence (AI) is bringing to education and scientific research.

In the AI era, teaching and research are no longer limited to transmitting or generating knowledge; they become drivers of innovation, adapting to technological and societal changes. IMIP’25 will highlight the challenges to be met, the opportunities to be seized, and the innovations to be developed to sustainably transform higher education and scientific research.

Discussions and presentations will revolve around two main axes:

Axis 1: Artificial Intelligence and the Transformation of Education

This first axis explores how artificial intelligence is redefining educational practices by introducing new paradigms.

  • Personalized learning: AI enables the customization of educational paths to meet learners' specific needs through tools such as learning analytics, virtual tutors, and adaptive learning platforms.
  • New pedagogical approaches: Innovative models such as active learning, immersive simulations (virtual/augmented reality), and hybrid teaching leverage AI to enhance student engagement and success.
  • Ethical and human challenges: The integration of AI raises fundamental questions about the role of teachers, data protection for learners, and inequalities in access to technology.

This axis invites reflection on teaching that enhances human capabilities while preserving equity and sustainability values.

Axis 2: AI as a Catalyst for Scientific Research

This second axis focuses on the role of artificial intelligence in evolving research practices and methodologies.

  • Automation and acceleration of scientific processes: AI provides tools to rapidly analyze large volumes of data, identify complex patterns, and generate new hypotheses.
  • Interdisciplinary collaboration: By integrating scientific disciplines with AI tools, it becomes possible to address complex societal challenges, particularly in health, environment, and economics.
  • Ethical issues and governance: The use of AI in research raises questions about the reliability of results, algorithmic biases, and transparency in scientific processes.

This axis emphasizes the importance of responsible and inclusive AI use to ensure scientific advancements that benefit everyone.

IMIP’25 aims to promote a deep understanding of AI's impact on education and scientific research while offering concrete and sustainable innovation pathways. It will serve as a platform for academics, researchers, educators, policymakers, and practitioners to envision an educational and scientific future enriched by AI while remaining grounded in ethical and human values.

TYPES OF CONTRIBUTIONS

Contributions can be submitted in French or English within the proposed themes in the form of an Oral Presentation or a Scientific Poster following the IMReD format (Introduction, Method, Results, Discussion).

Participants must present their research results in pedagogical innovation during oral sessions.

Accepted and selected presentations will be submitted for publication in a special issue of partner journals:

  • The International Journal on Optimization and Applications (IJOA, ISSN: 2737-8314)
  • The International Journal of Performance & Organizations (IJPO, ISSN: 2824-7116)

Selected case studies in pedagogy will be considered for publication in a collective book.
